Congrats to 25-year-old Angie Nwandu for being recognized by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people on the internet. You may not recognize her name, but I’m pretty sure you’ve come across her website a few times. Angie runs the popular gossip site, The Shade Room (TSR), which keeps fans intrigued and entertained with celebrity beef, latest entertainment news and more! Within two years, Angie transformed TSR, which used Instagram as its primary platform to share gossip with their readers, into a full-on blog site, read by over 3 million readers.
“TSR has become a burgeoning media empire, replete with its own tipsters, staff (there are now four full-time employees), and advertisers—all of whom serve an audience of 3.9 million and counting’” the magazine said.
Other notable influential people recognized by Time Magazine include Johnetta Elzie, Kanye West, Drake, Kim Kadarshian-West.
Nwandu started The Shade Room after she quit her job as an accountant. Now she has a full-time staff of four who work in shifts to publish posts 24 hours a day. Her readers, also known as “Roommates,” even submit newsworthy tips.
