After Apple Music released the promo for  Hillary Clinton’s interview with Mary J. Blige, a sea of critics on social media felt the promo of a serenading Mary  was “cringe-worthy” and “Awkward”.

In case you’re wondering how this interview came about, you will see in the beginning of the video where Blige says when she met Clinton and performed at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, she was inspired to interview the secretary and presidential candidate for the debut episode of her new show, ‘The 411 with Mary J.
