Lifetime has finally knocked the ball out of the park with their latest project!

‘Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le’ was a hit for Lifetime, pulling in 2.3 million viewers on premiere night! It was cable’s top entertainment telecast (excluding sports) in total viewers, adults 18-49 (1.1M), adults 25-54 (1.2M), women 25-54 (934K) and women 18-49 (836K).

The network’s Saturday’s premiere of the one-hour documentary Beyond The Headlines: Michel’le averaged 1.9 million total viewers, retaining 83% of it’s Surviving Compton lead-in.

All in, Lifetime boasts, the network reached 9.4 million viewers across all weekend telecasts of the two projects, which touch on the life of hip-hop recording artist Michel’le.

Surviving Compton, from Sony Pictures Television and Thinkfactory Media, was the most social TV program (excluding sports) on the day of its premiere, with 216K unique people generating 506K interactions across Facebook and Twitter. Surviving Compton was the most social movie of the weekend with a total of 573K interactions.

The feedback on social media confirms that Lifetime has been redeemed, considering their biopics from the past. Auntie Oprah Winfrey, are among those fans impressed with Michel’le’s story. In fact, she was so impressed, she hit Michel’le up!

The reality star of ‘R&B Divas’ and Ex of Hip Hop legendary producer, Dr. Dre, has teamed up with the Lifetime network (God, help her) for her biopic, ‘Surviving Compton’.

It looks like Lifetime is gearing up for another one of their infamous biopics! THIS time, it’s about Dr. Dre of NWA fame and his former fiancée, Michel’le, whose ground-breaking ballad, “Something in my Heart” helped catapult her into success in R&B/Soul.

Dre Dre will be portrayed by Curtis Hamilton and Michel’le will be played by Rhyon Nicole Brown.

Dr. Dre’s girlfriend for more than a decade and later married to Suge Knight, Michel’le was there for N.W.A’s wild ride, with all of its dramatic ups and down. Finally, after years of silence, she is ready to reveal her side of the story.
