Legendary comedian Charlie Murphy has succumbed to his battle with Leukemia, according to TMZ. Murphy, who is the older brother of Eddie, died Wednesday morning in an NYC hospital. He’d been going undergoing chemotherapy.  According to the site, family members were “absolutely shocked” because they thought he was getting better.

Charlie became a fave in the comedy circuit with roles in films like ‘Roll Bounce’, ‘Harlem Nights’, and ‘The Players Club’. He also toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on “The Comedy Get Down.” But it was his story-telling on ‘The Dave Chappelle Show’ that made us fall in love. The 57-year-old leaves behind three children.
