It’s a great feeling when we hear of former gang members exiting their violent lifestyle and do positive things. It’s not often that we hear of former gang rivals who come together to start a business, and that’s what makes this story so special.

Malachi Jenkins (left) was a member of the Crips and Roberto Smith (right) was a member of the Bloods. Despite their gang’s history, a mutual friend introduced the two because they had something in common; they both wanted out the gang. They hit it off from the start and both realized they no longer wanted to be a part of the gang life.

Malachi, who also goes by the name Chef Spanky, enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu, and after graduating, he started posting pictures of his dishes on Instagram. His pictures helped their catering business take off and since becoming Instagram famous, the two started their new business venture, Trap Kitchen LA.

Such an amazing story!!!
