The hours-long outage at Facebook and its platforms had people going to Twitter to for their daily dose of scrolling, with many making jokes about the situation.

According to reports, some users are getting a message that says "Facebook will be back soon". "We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can do". Some users saw a message, saying Facebook was down for "required maintenance".

Ironically, Facebook employees also turned to Twitter to let users know that there was an issue.

Users are shifting over to Twitter (and calling the cops), to express their outrage over the outages.

Facebook, Instagram and Messenger crashed primarily in major urban areas across the United States and Europe, along with parts of South America and Australia and New Zealand.

Social media users are facing problems with the Facebook's trio of social networks.

Others could not post photos on the social media sites.
