Alicia Keys just kicked off the 2019 Grammy Awards with a massive moment of female empowerment inviting none other than Michelle Obama to the stage. "I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more", she continued.

Soon Alicia invited out Jada Pinkett-SMoith, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and former first lady Michelle Obama to help her double down on the inspiring message.

"I know i'm not there tonight (trust, i tried and still truly wished it had worked out tbh) and i know i said i try not to put too much weight into these things. but (expletive). this is wild and handsome. thank you so much", she tweeted after learning about her win.

"Back in the Bronx, music gave me a reason to dance. and it kept me moving from the block to the big stages and even bigger screens", she said. "Music is the one place we can all feel truly free".

She hailed the importance "particularly for women to have our seat at the table, to represent the fact that we are so here and so incredible and we are the creators of our music".

"From the Motown records I wore out on the south side", Obama said, as the audience erupted. "It allows us to hear one another". Music shows us that all of it matters ... "Is that right ladies?"

Keys delivered a somewhat rambling speech about music being our "global language", telling the crowd, "Music is what we all love".
