George Clooney has said the Duchess of Sussex is being "pursued and vilified" and compared her treatment with that of Diana, Princess of Wales.

She said in the letter: "Daddy, it is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you are causing".

Thomas told The Mail that he sent his daughter a lengthy response... which included a request for a photo op with Meghan and Harry to "show harmony".

Over the weekend, a deeply personal letter allegedly written by the duchess to her father in August, was published - months after he missed her wedding.

Last month, five of Meghan's close friends told People magazine the duchess had endured "lies and untruths" and "global bullying" and they anxious how this would affect her and her baby.

"I believe that it's time to take a stand", she continued.

In the article, five of her closest confidants said the Duchess of Sussex has had to put up with "lies and untruths" and "global bullying".

"While the objective of Meghan's letter was very much to fix the relationship with her father, she knew in her heart of hearts that this was going to be released to the papers", he said.
