President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania invited a boy who has been severely bullied for sharing their last name to the State of the Union address, according to Politico.

Under pressure from conservative backers, Mr Trump refused to sign a government funding bill that did not include money for his long-sought border wall. Roberts and Kagan have never missed the State of the Union address since they've been on the court.

For instance, when President Trump announced that black unemployment is the lowest ever recorded, the Democrats couldn't even wipe the contempt off their faces for a second to acknowledge the good news.

The State of the Union address had to be postponed by a week because of the partial government shutdown precipitated by the standoff between the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and the executive branch over the president's proposed wall.

Even liberals cringed with embarrassment at the behavior of congressional Democrats during the 2018 State of the Union address.

"This year's guests come from all different walks of life, and each has an incredible story to tell", the White House wrote in a statement. Trump's approval rating during the shutdown dipped to 34 percent, down from 42% a month earlier, according to a recent survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

The 11-year-old's family reportedly endured the bullying for years and had hoped, in vain, that their son's enrollment in middle school would bring it to an end.

Meanwhile, Democrats are sending a message with their invited guests, especially those who are running in the 2020 election. Sen.

Trump responded that Schumer was "just upset that he didn't win the Senate, after spending a fortune".

Schumer took to the Senate floor ahead of Trump's speech and argued for 10 minutes the current state of the country is "chaos". Trump likes to play this game, as well, telling Americans to "stay tuned" for exciting twists in his presidency - which he clearly mistakes for a TV show - and then failing to deliver.

Declaring a state of emergency at the border might resolve Trump's personal frustrations, but it would put his allies in Congress in a hard position.

First Lady Melania Trump's "Be Best" initiative focuses in part on preventing and helping children deal with bullying, particularly in online spaces.

The Democratic response to Trump will be delivered by Stacey Abrams, who excited interest from activists across the country in the fall when she was almost elected the U.S.'s first African-American woman state governor by voters in once-segregated Georgia.

"To every Republican, if you don't stand behind this president, we're not going to stand behind you, when it comes to the wall", he said in Greenville, South Carolina. Trump granted her clemency in June.

The source said Trump would discuss troop drawdowns in Syria and Afghanistan and that about half the speech would be devoted to foreign policy.

Republicans were more positive than Democrats, and 77 percent overall said Trump's policies are "a great deal" or "somewhat" responsible for the state of the economy, CBS said.
