Chicago is waiving Carmelo Anthony, league sources tell ESPN.

In addition, the acquisition cleared the way for the Bulls to officially waive Carmelo Anthony, making him a free agent.

According to ESPN, the Lakers remain "a real possibility" as Anthony's next destination to join long-time pal LeBron James.

After parting ways with the Houston Rockets on November 15, Carmelo Anthony has not played in a game since, and was eventually traded to the Chicago Bulls on January 22.
