He will be joined in balloting on February 2 by Steve Atwater, Tony Boselli, Isaac Bruce, Don Coryell, Tom Flores, Steve Hutchinson, Edgerrin James, Ty Law, John Lynch, Kevin Mawae and Richard Seymour.

Five modern era players or coaches will be chosen by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee following a meeting on Saturday, Feb. 4, the eve of Super Bowl LII. The nine-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro won a Super Bowl in 2003 with the Bucs. Lynch's final four seasons were spent with the Denver Broncos.

This is Seymour's first time making the final 15, from which a maximum of five can be elected.

"This is the team that drafted me, so this is a special place", Hutchinson, a first-round pick by the Seahawks in 2001, said after raising the 12 Flag for Seattle's playoff game against Detroit.

Law made five Pro Bowls and was a member of the 2000s All-Decade team. He finished his career in 1999 after his lone season with the New York Jets. The legendary tight end was inducted into the Chiefs' Hall of Fame on December 13. He got them to a 13-3 team where they lost in the AFC Championship Game to the Steelers and ended up finishing his career there in the Ring of Honor. He holds the career receptions record for tight ends with 1,325, second only overall to Jerry Rice, and gained more than 15,127 yards while scoring 111 touchdowns.

Ravens' former safety Ed Reed has made that list. Don Coryell was a pioneer of the modern-day passing offense in the National Football League and won 111 games in his career with the Chargers and Cardinals.

Lynch, a standout safety for Tampa Bay and Denver, becomes a finalist for the sixth straight year.
