La Liga call for UEFA sanctions against Manchester City amid new FFP leaks

Allegations In the latest allegations to plunge City into turmoil, it is alleged a risk analysis regarding a possible deal with Arabtec was carried out by executives but that, despite the report concluding a partnership with the company would have "significant potential to damage the perception and standing of the club and its owners", the club struck an agreement regardless, signing a regional contract that would be publicised only in Arab states, Russian Federation and Turkey, where there was considered to be less risk of condemnation.

The magazine claims that in an internal email, City's chief financial officer Jorge Chumillas wrote: "We will have a shortfall of 9.9m pounds in order to comply with UEFA FFP this season".

Defending the Premier League champions as "incredibly professional" in response to allegations they bent financial fair play rules, he added: "Of course, like many, many clubs around the world they have a lot of money, but they are also an incredible club".

City have subsequently been accused in more leaked documents of an array of attempts to inflate and backdate sponsorship deals to "deceive" UEFA.

As the leaks continue to emerge, the Spanish top flight, La Liga, have urged UEFA to take action against Manchester City as well as fellow Abu Dhabi owned club PSG, and have warned that they could take it to the European Union courts.

Privately, Pellegrini has been trying to coax the best out of the player they called "Neymar's younger brother" back in Brazil.

With several months left on his contract with Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola signed an agreement with Manchester City to lead the team from the following season. I am focused on what happened on the pitch, in the locker room. And we want to do what we have to do in terms of the rules.

Der Spiegel also reports that City owner Sheikh Mansour provided monetary supplements to existing deals with sponsors in Abu Dhabi, where he is part of the royal family, to invest more money into the club.

Der Spiegel is planning to publish further stories related to City on Wednesday and Thursday. "UEFA FFP compliance WILL NOT be achieved".

But the City full-back says it is up to the players to get supporters back on side first by beating Group F rivals Shakhtar Donetsk then powering their way to glory in Madrid next May.

Man City apparently wanted to shift some costs away from the club and helped set up a shell company called Fordham Sports Management with two British investors.

David Frommer, spokesman for the European Club Association, said the organisation had "full trust in UEFA's organs of control in holding clubs to account".
