Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecutor Sheikh Saud Al Muajab leaves the courthouse after a meeting with Istanbul’s chief public prosecutor

Journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled to death soon after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, while his body was "cut into pieces", chief Turkish prosecutor Ifran Fidan said.

The statement was the first public confirmation by a Turkish official that Khashoggi was strangled and mutilated after he entered the Saudi Consulate on October 2.

The Turkish lawyer looking into the death of Jamal Khashoggi has asked Saudi Arabia's prosecutor to disclose who sent the team involved in the journalist's killing, President Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday.

After this, the statement alleges, Saudi officials proceeded with dismembering Khashoggi to secretly transport his body and cover up the killing. Who was the alleged local collaborator that the Saudis say took part?

"It's an very bad thing that took place", Pompeo told conservative talk show host Brian Kilmeade.

Turkey says that despite all well-intended efforts, authorities have unable to reach "concrete results" in the investigation of Khashoggi's killing.

He also claimed that Mojeb was in pursuit of Khashoggi's phone, which the journalist handed to his Turkish fiancee before entering the consulate.

France said Wednesday that "not enough" was being done to find those responsible for the murder of Khashoggi, who was an insider in Saudi royal circles before going into self-imposed exile in the United States previous year. Its authorities remain frustrated at a perceived lack of co-operation by Saudi Arabia, according to the BBC's Mark Lowen in Istanbul.

Gillum and DeSantis trade increasingly personal blows during second Florida gubernatorial debate
He has denied the remark was a reference to Gillum's race . "I arrived at that theater and received my ticket from my brother". During the October 22 CNN debate between the two governor candidates, DeSantis said of Gillum, "Andrew is a failed mayor".

The Turkish prosecutor's announcement of the cause of death comes just days after Saudi chief prosecutor Saud al-Mojeb left Istanbul.

The 59-year-old was a columnist for The Washington Post and vanished after entering the consulate in Istanbul.

Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported that he had boarded a plane back to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, having met with the Istanbul chief prosecutor twice.

His fiancee was waiting for him outside.

Often on the receiving end of Khashoggi's criticisms, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had earlier lauded the "unique" cooperation between Saudi and Turkey. Saudi Arabia only recently acknowledged Turkish evidence showed the slaying was premeditated.

As a Saudi dissident, Khashoggi was concerned he might be arrested for his work.

President Trump also bought into the Saudi's denial before new evidence emerged, and has argued against canceling lucrative weapons deals with the kingdom despite the human rights atrocity.
