Australian referee Angus Gardner came under heavy criticism after he didn't award South Africa a penalty for what looked like a risky and no arms tackle by Farrell on Esterhuizen in the 84th minute of the match.

If Brown had decided the shuddering hit was worthy of a red card, it would have triggered a citing that could have prevented Farrell playing in England's highly anticipated match against the world champions.

"You can get cited for something you did at a party when you were 15, anything could happen", the former Wallabies coach added.

But they now head into a clash against the All Blacks at Twickenham on November 10 buoyed by two successive wins.

Speaking in the wake of England's controversial victory over the Springboks, Jones says he felt the on-field referee was being asked to do too much.

"(The) Most important thing is what we do next", the Australian said. Like, I don't understand this, guys.

'It's like everything - when you're selecting a national team, there's a whole lot of good players that don't quite make it. We've lost a few games, we played tough and we won.

'I just think the game is getting more intense. "Sometimes you can take what you want from it", Farrell said.

What To Do If You Run Into Problems At The Polls
County elections chief Karen Rhea blamed a poll worker error but said the problem had been corrected, reported the publication. If you are registered to vote and have not moved since the last election, your polling place has most likely not changed.

"He injured his ankle but beyond that we don't know how long, but for the next three Test matches he'll be unavailable for us - everybody else is available for selection".

England are looking for their first victory against the All Blacks since December 2012.

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus is showing his team they should "tackle".

"When you get in those arm wrestles, someone's got to give".

Jones hinted at frustration with the penalties conceded, though, and Maro Itoje was sin-binned early on.

"I reckon we just need consistency, I think it's pretty inconsistent at times", he said.

"Tom Curry is not available this week and he'll be ruled out for the rest of the series as well", said England forwards coach Steve Borthwick.

"They play the game differently".
