The judge at the center of Brazil's sprawling investigation into kickbacks to politicians said Tuesday he would consider joining the Cabinet of President-elect Jair Bolsonaro if invited.

"The Chinese side wishes new achievements would be made continuously by Brazil in the path of developing the country", Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang told a news briefing.

Brazil is already the deadliest country in the world in which to defend your land, with at least 57 people murdered past year, 25 of them in three massacres.

"China always attaches great importance to its relations with Brazil from a strategic height and long-term perspective", Lu said, adding China is willing to work together with Brazil to safeguard and develop the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership, to better benefit the two countries and the two people.

Paulo Guedes, whom Bolsonaro selected as a "super minister" with a portfolio combining the current ministries of finance, planning and development, has urged Congress to pass an initial version of pension reform before the january 1 inauguration. "You are all my witnesses that this government will defend the constitution, of liberty and of God", Bolsonaro said in a Facebook live video in his first comments after his victory.

Lula himself was barred from running because he is serving a 12-year prison sentence for corruption.

According to one analyst, the recovery in Brazilian markets hasn't been as much because investors were high on Bolsonaro but more because they shuddered at the prospect of any other option.

In the run-up to the election, Bolsonaro, whose first foreign visits would be to Chile, Israel and the U.S. - that according to him "share our worldview" - has said: "The future ministry will come from the productive sector".
