They also confirmed a 49-year-old man was taken to hospital following the altercation in which he was "struck in the face", and remained in a stable condition.

As some of his fans know, Baldwin has run into trouble with the police on more than one occasion.

Baldwin went on a Twitter rant after his arrest, posting the arresting officer's name and badge number.

Baldwin's November 2 arrest isn't the first time the 60-year-old actor has run into trouble with the law. Representatives of Alec Baldwin has given no comment at this time. The alleged incident took place just months after he was photographed allegedly pushing a man against a vehicle near NYU's Greenwich Village campus.

Back in 2012, cameras caught Baldwin allegedly attacking New York Daily News photographer Marcus Santos after he attempted to snap a photo of the actor. In 2014, he was arrested in NY and issued a summons for disorderly conduct after riding his bike in the wrong direction.

The star of the sitcom 30 Rock and the film Glengarry Glen Ross has made numerous Saturday Night Live cameos as President Donald Trump in recent years and has a talk show on ABC.

Baldwin also received backlash in 2013 for lobbing a gay slur against a photographer attempting to capture his wife and infant son on camera.
