New iPad Pro, Macs, and more: The rumors ahead of Apple's Oct. 30 event

Macs and iPads have larger screens and keyboards, more versatile software and typically faster processing speeds than iPhones. While the iPhone won over consumers, and the Watch is on a growing number of wrists, Apple is pushing content creation for its other major devices. Also, if you take a look at some of the aforementioned iPad Pro renders below, you'll notice how there's no notch and that the Face ID sensors blend seamlessly right into the bezel. They asked not to be identified discussing unannounced products.

Last year's iOS 11 brought some big changes to the iPad including the new applications dock and ability to physically drag and drop files into folders. Rumours suggest that Apple will launch the successor to the MacBook Air, but the highlight of the event apart from the pair of iPad Pros could be the Mini MacBook, which will basically target countries like India. While nothing is confirmed yet, obviously, the rumor mill has been pretty consistent: It's likely the turn of the iPad Pro and the desktop Macs to get refreshed.

As for other iPad Pro design changes worth mentioning, the new tablets will reportedly not ship with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It depicts an iPhone X-like design, with somewhat rounded corners, no home button, relatively small bezels, and buttons on the side as well as at the top. Unlike with iPhones, Face ID will work in both portrait and landscape orientations. This would see the new machine replicating the Face ID system used by iPhone X and iPhone Xs smartphones.

The screens will be less expensive LCD panels, rather than the OLED screens on the iPhone Xs.

Today we've got another report that lends credence to reports for an upcoming iPad Pro redesign. Apple also said to be adding a custom Apple graphics chip to the iPads. There's no reason to believe Apple won't once again livestream the event on its site, but Gizmodo will also be there, keeping you looped in on all the new hardware and why it matters.

For the Mac, Apple is planning its first wide-ranging upgrades since June 2017.

Apple is also expected to announce a Mac Mini that's built with pro users in mind. The company hasn't done an overhaul of this line of computers in four years. Some or all of these products could debut at Tuesday's event. It will have a higher-resolution 13-inch screen, as well as slimmer bezels around the display. That's especially true with the Mac Mini, which hasn't been upgraded in years. They also haven't updated the Mac Pro in forever-though they did announce that they are working on it-and the regular iMac is due for a spec bump, at least.
