Its center will move between Bermuda and the Bahamas Tuesday and Wednesday, and approach the coast of SC or North Carolina on Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 10 miles from the center and tropical-storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles, the NHC said.

Hurricane Florence was traveling over warm Atlantic waters and gaining energy as it moved 625 miles southeast of Bermuda Monday. The current forecast track suggests the hurricane will most likely approach North Carolina or SC on Thursday as it gathers speed.

Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall on Thursday and will most heavily impact the coastal states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. On Monday he said: "We do know that we're in the bull's-eye".

"There is an increasing risk of life-threatening impacts from Florence", the hurricane center has been saying for days. People rushed to get emergency kits ready, map out escape routes, fill sandbags and secure their homes.

Authorities anxious about the storm's potential to unleash prolonged torrential rains and widespread flooding across several states, especially if it lingers inland for several days. Cotton, corn and soybean fields, along with massive hog and poultry facilities lie in Florence's forecast path.Smithfield Foods Inc., the No. 1 hog producer, and chicken producer Sanderson Farms Inc. saw North Carolina operations disrupted in 2016 in flooding from Hurricane Matthew.

Preparations for Florence come as the Atlantic hurricane season hits its peak.

Senators and Congressmen from Virginia urged President Trump Monday to declare a federal emergency before Hurricane Florence makes landfall later this week.

The US Navy said it was preparing to send about 30 ships stationed in Virginia out to sea.

He estimated about 1 million residents would flee the coast of his state, following earlier orders for the evacuation of more than 50,000 people from the southern-most Outer Banks barrier islands of North Carolina.

While Guam is getting hit now with Typhoon Mangkhut and Hawaii is likely to get Tropical Storm Olivia tomorrow night, lets focus on the Atlantic, where three hurricanes have lined up. It should accelerate over the next 36 hours, but poses no threat to land at this time.
