The plane was parked by the American Airlines hangar - not at a gate - when the fetus was discovered.

Police in NY are investigating after they said a fetus was found in the bathroom of a commercial airliner at LaGuardia Airport early Tuesday, according to WABC.

Fetus was thought to be 5 months along.

A cleaning crew found the fetus in the bathroom of the plane, which had landed in NY on Monday night from Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a high-ranking police source. The investigation caused a ripple effect of delays to at least one other American Airlines flight.

A dead fetus was found on a plane that flew to NY from Charlotte Monday night.

They instead turned all questions over to the Queens District Attorney's Office which is yet to make a statement.
