Severe Weather Expected Tonight

Friday: Partly sunny with just a few afternoon storms. Some storms will also bring locally heavy rain at times and flooding, or flash flooding, will be a concern overnight.

A cold front will begin to push through Tuesday. The movement of any storms through midweek will be from south to north, which will make the "training" of storms possible, or the movement of heavy downpours over the same area repeatedly. Otherwise, we stay mostly cloudy and muggy, with lows mainly in the low 70s.

We do have slightly better rain chances today, but it's not until later in the day and it won't be much.

Salina and the surrounding area should be getting a break from the usual hot, dry weather of July, according to the National Weather Service office in Wichita (NWS-W). Monday still brings the chance for a few showers and thunderstorms. As this moves out, and with the loss of daytime heating, any stray shower would end in the evening, then the skies will clear out.

Expect highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s with a heat index of 95ºF to 100ºF for most of the Tennessee Valley.

Mostly sunny skies with highs closer to seasonal normal, in the upper 90s.

Storms will first start developing in the mountains during the morning and midday hours, pushing east through the foothills and Denver metro area after 12-1 p.m. We can't rule out an isolated storm on Friday.
