"After the meeting, the two leaders signed a broad agreement to "[commit] to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", but did not include a specific outline or timetable.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that North Korea appeared to be building one or two new liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles at the large research facility on the outskirts of Pyongyang, citing unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting.

USA spy agencies have been seeing signs of the construction at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that USA intelligence agencies are seeing signs that work is under way on one or two liquid-fueled ICMBs at the Sanumdong research facility, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The claims come just weeks after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and USA president Donald Trump met in Singapore to agree on denuclearisation. Last Tuesday, Trump said new images signaled that North Korea was beginning to dismantle "a key missile site".

The White House said it did not comment on intelligence, Reuters reported, while a senior official at South Korea's presidential office said USA and South Korean intelligence agencies are closely looking into various North Korean movements.

"We see them going to work, just as before", the Post quoted one USA official as saying.

If the reported North Korean nuclear activity seems inconsistent with what went down at the meeting in Indonesia, it's because Trump oversold the progress he made there.

Russia's Vladimir Putin: Donald Trump has an invitation to come to Moscow
Putin said Friday that he was prepared to visit Trump in Washington and that he had also invited the president to Moscow. Aide Yuri Ushakov said that while a meeting should take place, " it would be wise to let the dust settle " first.

"Offer up 20 first-gen warheads, claim you are or have disarmed, but keep the good stuff in presumably clandestine facilities and hope they aren't discovered", Narang said.

Team Trump on Tuesday minimized revelations that United States spy agencies believed that North Korea was building new missiles in the same research facility that manufactured earlier ballistic missiles capable of reaching the US.

But Pompeo said there was "an bad long way to go" before North Korea could no longer be viewed as a nuclear threat.

According to the United States official who spoke to Reuters, one photo showed a truck and covered trailer similar to those the North has used to move its ICBMs. "The nuclear program provides them with a deterrent in their mind against regime change by the United States".

Fissile material refers to either uranium highly enriched in the uranium-235 isotope or plutonium-239, both of which are suitable for use in nuclear weapons.

The North Koreans are publicly dismantling an engine test stand at the Sohae Satellite Launching Station.

While North Korea honored its promise to return the remains of fallen USA soldiers during the Korean War, there have been troubling reports that Pyongyang will never truly disarm. They're willing to put up with certain limits, like no nuclear testing and no ICBM testing.
