Royals release new photos to mark Prince Louis' christening

Photographer Matt Holyoak captured the special moments at Clarence House after the christening.

After Prince Louis' christening at the chapel at St James' Palace on Monday, 9 July Kensington Palace has released a attractive new set of snaps of the tot and his family.

The former was composed for the Duke and Duchess's wedding in April 2011 and were performed by The Choir of Her Majesty's Chapel Royal. As evidenced by Pippa's slight bump in the picture, she and James are now expecting their first child together.

The family was beaming as they celebrated their new member.

Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen a different photographer to take the christening portraits of each of their children. "The photographs were taken by Matt Holyoak at Clarence House, following Prince Louis's christening". There's no denying how enamoured the royal is with her newborn baby.

In one of the set of four photos, the Cambridges pose with Prince Louis and their wider family, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Middleton family, who were also present for the day.

The 11-week-old prince napped through the 40-minute service in the duchess of Cambridge's arms as she stood alongside her husband, who held the hands of George and Charlotte.

On Monday, July 9th Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge was baptised into the Church of England with his immediate family and godparents surrounding him. People reported Harry missed Princess Charlotte's christening because he was on a trip to Namibia working on an animal rescue project.

In another one of the photos, Louis is awake and looks at Kate adorably, and the bond between mother and son can not be mistaken.

Prince William's christening photos, taken in 1982 at Buckingham Palace, are also a crowded affair.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are notably absent from the group photos as they were unable to attend their new great-grandson's christening. By continuing to browse our site, you are agreeing to our use of cookies.
