"But no, I did not know she (Jarrett) was black", she said.

Barr was sacked and her rebooted sitcom was canceled within 24 hours of her tweet. "I assumed because she was from Iran and she lived in Iran for such a long time", Roseanne said.

Roseanne Barr has a lot to say about the new Roseanne spinoff, The Conners. "That's what was in my head".

"You could have knocked me over with a feather when they said she was African-American", Barr said of being contacted by ABC and asked to explain her "egregious" tweet.

When given a number of opportunities to apologise directly to Ms Jarrett, Barr said: "I'm so sorry you thought I was racist, and that you thought my tweet was racist".

"My show was canceled before not even one advertiser was pulled out and I was labeled a racist", Barr says. "I apologize. I never meant to hurt anybody".

"So is forgiveness dead in America?" he asked. I never meant that, and for that I apologize.

She explained: "It cost me everything. I am somebody who cares about civil rights", she said.

"It was political", Barr told Hannity, addressing Jarrett. "I like the middle way", she told the Fox News host. The comic also claimed a recent video she released on YouTube, saying of Jarrett, "I thought the b**** was white", was a joke.

British man exposed to Novichok discharged
Police believe they have identified the suspected perpetrators of the novichok attack on the Skripals, it was reported this week. The source of the poisoning of Mr Rowley and his partner was from a small bottle found at his home in Amesbury.

ABC fired Barr in late May for the Jarrett tweet.

Despite its high ratings, ABC canceled Roseanne in May after Barr posted what the network's Entertainment President Channing Dungey called an "abhorrent" and "repugnant" tweet about Jarrett.

Just two, she corrected again, plus blood pressure medication.

Roseanne Barr sat for her first TV interview since she was sacked and had her ABC sitcom "Roseanne" canceled over a racist tweet.

She added that she invited Jarrett to join her appearance on Sean Hannity, which she refused. "That's what made people like the Roseanne show - because they saw themselves in [me], or have an aunt, or their mom or their sister, somebody in their family was, you know, a loud, outspoken woman who loved her family".

Let's talk about it. Let's really turn this into a teachable moment. "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't but. don't defend it please".

Roseanne Barr has just given a masterclass on how not to apologize for a massive public flameout.

"'I am a creative genius, and this is not a good feeling for an artist to be treated this way, and it's not a good feeling for a citizen, either", she said.
