House Republicans move to impeach deputy AG Rosenstein

It is unclear whether there will be enough support in the party to pass the impeachment resolution, as Republican leaders have not signed on to the effort and are unlikely to back it. "I am not keeping any information from Congress", Rosenstein said, pointing his finger at Jordan.

"I don't think we should be cavalier with this process or with this term", Ryan told reporters.

Instead, because Speaker Paul Ryan, the zombie-eyed granny starver from the state of Wisconsin, largely has taken leave of a job he wasn't doing anyway, we actually have to deal with a piece of legislation that is merely a thinly camouflaged direct-mail appeal.

Targeting Mr. Rosenstein, who is overseeing the special counsel Robert Mueller in the Russian Federation investigation, will likely effect the investigation.

Democrats have charged that House conservatives are targeting Rosenstein in an effort to undermine the larger Mueller investigation and protect President Donald Trump.

The articles were introduced by Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina, chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, and Rep. Jim Jordan of OH, along with 9 cosponsors.

And Meadows, Jordan and their compatriots now have live legislation in the Congress to tout on their trips home during the House's August recess.

The contempt resolution would first have to move through the Judiciary Committee, according to Republican aides.

"Rod Rosenstein and the Department of Justice have repeatedly ignored Congressional requests and subpoenas, showing a complete disregard for Congressional oversight authority". In order to restore the power to the people, we must impeach Rod Rosenstein.

Shane Black and Samantha Markle". "Shane Black used to date Samantha Markle, the really insane sister", Munn claimed of Samantha. She doesn't know how to communicate with him, because he's afraid that he's using their communication for their own purposes.

Ryan's tone was far different. We need to get them focused and we are pleading with them to do so. He stepped in in a supervisorial role after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself.

His open threat of triggering a vote on impeachment - which he can do if he follows a certain set of procedural rules - could help him win concessions on other contentious issues before the House. The move escalates an ongoing feud some House Republicans have had with the Justice Department, which they have accused of withholding key information from Congress. House leadership has not signed on to the resolution.

Last month, the House voted to approve a nonbinding resolution "insisting" that the Justice Department hand over scores of documents about the ongoing Russian Federation investigation.

The GOP's Freedom Caucus filed articles of impeachment against Trump this week, claiming that Rosenstein wasn't providing enough documents to Congress. In his capacity as Deputy AG, Mr. Rosenstein oversaw and approved of the likely-improper FISA warrant on Carter Page and subsequent surveillance of President Trump's team.

The impeachment resolution also criticizes Rosenstein for refusing to produce a memo that outlines the scope of the investigation and questions whether the investigation was started on legitimate grounds.

Rosenstein, along with FBI Director Christopher Wray, faced dozens of angry Republicans at a House hearing last month. Still, some GOP lawmakers said they would draw the line at impeachment.

"Information has been hidden, efforts have been stonewalled", Meadows said during an appearance on Fox News Wednesday night. "If you are looking for documents, then you want compliance, and you want whatever moves you toward compliance".

Democrats have argued the focus on Rosenstein is an attempt to broadly undermine the Mueller investigation. That includes four Trump campaign advisers. In Wednesday's press statement announcing the articles of impeachment, Jordan once again criticized Rosenstein.
