Man, 30, ordered evicted from parents’ home by New York judge feels ‘great’ to be leaving

Michael Rotondo - the 30-year-old man who was taken to court by his mom and dad to get him booted out of their house - is packing up to leave. but it has not gone smoothly.

Michael Rotondo became a well-known name in May after his parents asked a court to help them evict him, after he ignored multiple letters asking him to leave, including offering him US$1,100 to help find an apartment. The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports Rotondo called 911 on Tuesday, saying a person had called his phone from a restricted number to call him a "loser".

Rotondo had avoided TV crews staked out on the upstate NY road earlier Friday morning by leaving from the back, but returned around 9:30 a.m.in the passenger seat of a pickup truck. His father found and retrieved the toy building blocks, handing them over at some point after officers arrived, and that whole episode certainly sounds like a productive and necessary use of police time.

In the end, Rotondo was allowed to take the toys and leave home. Rotondo refused the judge's request to work things out directly with his parents, who sat quietly nearby.

His parents had said goodbye "more or less", he told reporters. He said he didn't understand why his parents were forcing him out, because he wasn't getting in their way and he paid for his own food and did his own laundry.

He also investigated unfounded claims, supported by Trump, questioning Obama's citizenship. Trump said she was "unfairly treated" and "used to be my biggest fan in the world".

Rotondo will apparently spend the next week living in an Airbnb in Syracuse, New York, before moving in with a distant cousin.

He gave an extensive interview to the Daily Mail about his 8-year-old son, claiming his problems with his parents stem from his attempts to regain custody rights to the boy.

"This isn't a game show", Rotondo said, explaining to the newspaper why he called police. "I don't have to guess what's behind door number one".

Calls made to Mark and Christina Rotondo's home Friday were not answered.
