The North Korean propaganda machine works round-the-clock to create a myth of greatness around Kim Jong-un, who is hailed as a great military general, an able administrator, an economic reformer and the most loved leader of the hermit kingdom.

In Singapore, officials from the USA and North Korea - led by the White House's deputy chief of staff for operations Joe Hagin and North Korea's de facto chief of staff Kim Chang Son - reportedly wrapped up their meetings to hammer out logistical details for the high-stakes summit.

The Capella Hotel has been considered to be the venue for the landmark summit, thanks to the United States delegation - including deputy White House chief of staff Joe Hagin - having made the upscale lodgings their base during ongoing discussions with their North Korean counterparts.

"This is where you would send someone you could trust", said Hong Min, head of North Korea research at the state-run Korea Institute for National Unification in Seoul.

Rodman has visited North Korea five times in the past and has previously taken credit for Trump and Kim discussing Pyongyang's nuclear program.

"We feel like things are continuing to move forward, and good progress has been made".

The denuclearization timeframe had been the key point of contention.

According to the group of Democrats, a successful agreement would require North Korea to completely dismantle and remove its nuclear, chemical and biological weapons; continue the suspension of its ballistic missile testing; and allow for "robust" compliance inspections. Cheong Wa Dae and the foreign ministry have stated that a trip to Singapore by Moon has not been decided.

Discussions on the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula are expected to be high on the agenda, although some analysts have speculated that a formal end to the Korean War is also on the table.

He also investigated unfounded claims, supported by Trump, questioning Obama's citizenship. Trump said she was "unfairly treated" and "used to be my biggest fan in the world".

It comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow hopes a summit between the two helps defuse tensions.

Earlier, Trump had called off the meeting citing hostile comments from North Korea.

"It looks like they needed someone who can have a firm grip on the military and dynamically push ahead with the new policies amid changes in US-North Korea relations", he added.

"A peace treaty would be a major accomplishment", said one US official involved in summit preparations.

Once the summit takes place, however, there are many other potential benefits from a North Korean perspective, experts said, first and foremost of which is the safety of the regime. "That then angered not only the president but the secretary of state".

The Singapore government has said police would make stricter checks of people and personal belongings and items such as public address systems and remotely piloted aircraft system would be prohibited in the area. "And I can also tell you the schedule tentatively for that first meeting will be on June 12 at 9 a.m. Singapore time (June 11 at 9 p.m. EDT)".

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) said it was willing to help resolve the impasse by bankrolling Kim's delegation, using part of the US$1.1 million (RM4.4 million) cash prize it received for winning last year's Nobel Peace Prize.

There have been fears that tensions will burst over into full-out war between North Korea and its western allies.
