WB Developing Spin Off Movie for Jared Leto's Joker

However, it's entirely possible that will happen in the coming months, potentially pushing the Suicide Squad spin-off ahead of the sequel to the poorly-received first film.

When Suicide Squad hit theaters, fans and critics were torn about how they felt about the film.

Jared Leto has signed on to star and executive produce a standalone Joker film branching out from his role in 2016's Suicide Squad, according to Variety. After the movie came out, Leto spoke extensively about how many of his Joker scenes were cut from the film.

The officers involved in her arrest have been reassigned to administrative duty while the investigation is ongoing. In a since-deleted Facebook post, Weinman admitted to having beer on her but claimed that she wasn't drinking.

A Suicide Squad sequel is also in the post, due to go into production in 2019, and that's aside from the now in-development The Batman from Matt Reeves, helmsman of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes. When was the last time you went to go see a movie because the massive draw of Jared Leto's magnetism was too much to resist?

There has been no update on Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie, to be directed by Matt Reeves. Although he's been coy on the matter, Joaquin Phoenix has reportedly been in talks to star. Now, there's two Joker movies in development.

It's now unknown when this particular Joker film starring Leto would go into production, as the project has yet to hire a writer to pen the script. One movie will be the origin story, while Jared Leto's will focus on the partly established character that we saw glimpses of during Suicide Squad. Variety adds that their are no plot details available for the Joker movie yet, but the current plan is that the movie will represent a path for other characters featured in Suicide Squad to get their own franchises.
