Owen and Claire race to save themselves and their dinosaurs in ‘Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Just like the characters in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teeter on the brink of disaster for much of the movie, so too is the film itself on the precipice of something that it would rather not face. As expected, that's behind the $18.5 million earned in previews by Jurassic World (2015) but is still a good number on its own. Considering how forgettable Jurassic Park III was, that's really saying something. The release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom makes it five movies at this point, and there's no end in sight. The dinosaurs were free once again, but not for long. The sequel also brings in franchise newcomers such as Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Ted Levine and, returning from the original Jurassic Park movies, Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm.

It's been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. The film, which has already grossed upwards of $450 million internationally, brings back Chris Pratt's Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire to the island of Isla Nublar, where the dinosaurs are being threatened with extinction thanks to an active volcano. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Thursday box office tally.
