Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to have been quite successful in petitioning the Russian government against delivering S-300 air defense systems to Syria.

However, Russia denied the linkage.

Kozhin's comments also come two days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Russian Federation for talks with Putin focusing on "ensuring ongoing military cooperation in Syria".

Kremlin aide Vladirmir Kozhin had said, "We're not discussing any deliveries of advanced new systems", and added the Syrian military "has everything it needs".

During the event, tanks, aircraft and missile defense systems (including the S-300 and S-400 models) were on display. After previous confirmations that such a delivery was happening, Putin now says he sees no need, and that no talks with Syria on the delivery are ongoing. Four of the missiles were knocked down by the Iron Dome air defense system and the rest failed to reach Israeli territory, according to the military.

Uttar Pradesh storm toll rises to 18, fresh storm warning
Yesterday's storm saw several villages and towns plunged into darkness after it uprooted electric poles and downed wires. "The storm struck around 3am and uprooted a neem tree that fell on his hut and crushed him to death", a villager said.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters on Friday that the S-300 sales were never announced, and that Moscow reserved the right to do anything it considered necessary following the allied strikes on Syria. The newspaper, which is considered a close affiliate of the Saudi regime, Netanyahu presented Putin with documents showing Iran is building missile factories in Syria and is strengthening its rocket force in that country.

A day later, Iran launched 20 missiles and rockets at Israel, which retaliated by wiping out almost all of Iran's military infrastructure in Syria.

Putin preceded his extensive meeting with Netanyahu with a meeting of the Russian National Security Council, part of which was devoted to the anticipated Israeli strikes in Syria.

Though they have since been superseded by the more modern S-400 system, the S-300s are still regarded as highly potent and outstrip anything that the Syrian regime now has.
