Haas Hall Academy remained at No. 1 and Northwest Arkansas claimed six of the top nine spots in this year's ranking of the state's public high schools by U.S. News & World Report.

Loveless Academy Magnet Program in Montgomery (LAMP) was named the top high school in Alabama. The Advanced Math and Science Charter School and Mystic Valley Regional Charter School earned the silver and bronze, respectively. Schools which outperformed their state averages were selected. Top performers also had to do well on state assessments and graduate at high rates. U.S. News ranked it 44th among Pennsylvania high schools. Tiebreakers determined the ranks of schools achieving the same CRI. Other locally ranked high schools include Homewood at No. 3; Oak Mountain at No. 5, Vestavia Hills at No. 6; Spain Park at No. 14; and Hoover at No. 26. It is significant, yet not surprising, that CPS represents most of the best schools in IL and is among the ranks of the greatest schools in the country. However, just because so few Bay State schools made the upper echelon of the national list doesn't mean they're not doing well.

Saints RB Mark Ingram suspended four games for PED violation
The suspension could prove even more costly if he was angling for a lucrative contract extension before the season kicked off. However, it was expected to remain a 1A/1B situation after that worked out so well past year for the NFC South champions.

High Technology High School, a small Monmouth County academy with selective enrollment placed 22nd, the highest ranking among New Jersey Schools.
