NY parents win legal battle to evict son, 30

A NY state supreme court judge has ordered a 30-year-old man to pack his bags and move out of his parents' home.

The New York family drama eventually rolled into the court system, where a judge on Tuesday ruled in the parents' favor and ordered Michael Rotondo to leave after having a room for eight years.

Mark and Christina Rotondo brought the court case after several eviction letters offering money and other help were ignored.

Rotondo condemned the decision and said he plans to appeal - although he added on Wednesday he would not appeal if his parents allowed him three months to move out. Michael claimed while his family provided him with accommodation, they didn't feed him or do his laundry.

The couple gave Michael five written notices to get out, they said.

They also offered to help him find somewhere to live, and told him he needed to find a job, saying, "There are jobs available even for those with a poor work history like you".

He left court, presumably heading back to his parents' home. "Get one - you have to work!"

Packers Not Expected To Sign Dez Bryant
When the dallas cowboys waived Dez Bryant , most National Football League fans thought he would pick up with a new team quickly. Bryant would be an interesting fit with the Packers - Graham, Dez and Davante Adams would be pretty hard to defend.

"I don't see why they can't just, you know, wait a little bit for me to leave the house", Mr Rotondo argued, as his parents looked on, sitting with their lawyer.

But that hasn't spurred him to find a new place to live - even though his parents want him to move out and on with his life.

The truth, Rotondo told reporters after the proceedings, is that he isn't ready to move out of his parents' home.

But Mr Rotondo, who legally represented himself, said it was the eviction notice that was outrageous. They do tell him to get a job and move his broken-down Volkswagen Passat. The story went viral after Syracuse.com first reported on it last week; its article features a series of letters the Rotondos gave their son, starting with one on February 2 of this year giving him 14 days to move out.

"Michael, After a discussion with your Mother, we have decided that you must leave this house immediately", reads the February 2 note that's signed, "Mark and Christina Rotondo".

"A six month notice is a reasonable amount of time for someone who has been depending on persons for support", he said.
