In a statement issued here Dinakaran said the actions of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in relation to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a reflection of Central government's anti-Tamil Nadu's attitude.

S Kalimuthu Mylavan, a lawyer, had submitted a PIL that the candidates from Tamil Nadu were allotted examination centres in other states and not within the state as mentioned in their applications.

As reported by Times Of India Subhash Gopinath, a student of Hilton School in Tenkasi Municipality in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, travelled a distance of 3100 km with his father and a friend, from his hometown to reach the examination centre.

Parthi Ravichandran, a doctor from Tamil Nadu, claimed that a candidate has been allotted a centre in Gangtok, Sikkim.

Advocate P Guruswami told News18 that between 1,000 and 1,500 students will have to travel to Ernakulum and other centres in Kerala alone.

For those who need accommodation, authorities shall provide it with the support of local people, it said.

Candidates appearing for the NEET 2018 had to follow strict regulations that disallowed them to carry stationery items like bits of paper, geometry box, pencil box, plastic pouch, pen scale, writing pad, eraser, mobile phone, blue tooth inside the examination hall. "The central government and the state statement which acts as centre's shadow, are responsible", he said on Twitter.

The PIL submitted by advocate S. Kalimuthu Mylavan stated that though candidates preferred three examination centres of their choice while applying, they were allotted centres in other states. He was allotted a centre in Udaipur, Rajasthan 2311 km from Chennai despite selecting Tirunelveli, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli as his choice of centres. This year the number has increased by over 30 per cent and even after accommodating 1,10,000 students some 1500 students could not be accommodated, NEET officials said adding that they could not set up more examination centres.

CBSE regional officer said candidates not carrying admit card would not be allowed to enter the centre. Students were instructed to wear slippers or sandals instead of shoes.
