National Film Awards 2018: Boney Kapoor tears up after receiving Sridevi's award

Late actress Sridevi was awarded the prestigious National Film Award, for which the ceremony took place in the capital on Thursday. Later on, Boney shared the pictures of Award and certificate from Sridev's Twitter account for her fans and admirers. "We feel elated, proud that she's been recognised for the hard work she's put in in this film", NDTV quoted Boney Kapoor as saying. The last movie Sridevi will be seen in is Anand L Rai's Zero, where she appears in a cameo. She had given the super hit films to Bollywood industry. We wish she was here with us. "It is very special for us as a family".

Not many would have realised but Sridevi had worn this saree for the first time at Ram Charan's wedding back in 2013. Sridevi is this year's victor of the Best Female Actor Award. While the list of National Film Awards was announced on April 13, the awardees were felicitated with the trophies on May 3. Sridevi passed away on 24 February this year after she accidently drowned in the bath tub of her Dubai hotel room. With a career that saw 300 films and multiple awards, Kapoor agrees that the late superstar Sridevi's journey in the world of cinema is a story that deserves to be told on the big screen. It was then their step-brother Arjun Kapoor and step-sister Anshula stepped in to provide comfort and support at such a delicate moment.
