Man Utd Draw With West Ham To Secure Second Spot

Manchester United will finish second in the Premier League after a disappointing 0-0 draw at West Ham on Thursday.

Despite the first-half being a duel of good tempo, both teams had to settle for half chances, with Adrian being the busier goalkeeper, making five saves.

The point means United will finish as best of the rest behind runaway champions Manchester City while David Moyes' Hammers move within two points of the top half with a game remaining.

West Ham have edged on to 39 points, but there is a question mark over whether boss Moyes will still be in charge next term.

On Sunday, Manchester United play the final match of their season at Old Trafford against Watford, while West Ham host Everton at home.

The result, however, was enough for United to guarantee their highest league finish since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Jose Mourinho has cast fresh doubt on the future of several Manchester United players.

Why Prince Phillip might miss the royal wedding on May 19
Speaking of royal babies, Markle's agent, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, previously said the actress is eager to start a family of her own. Richardson said, "I guess you class her as a commoner, don't you". "Meghan can't wait to see them and show them her new home".

However, that failed to provoke an immediate response as West Ham posed the early threat.

Adrian began his defiance by turning behind a swerving 25-yard effort from Jesse Lingard, before denying Alexis Sanchez with a parry and diverting a rebound shot from Luke Shaw onto the post with his leg.

Marko Arnautovic beat Chris Smalling for pace in the seventh minute but fired straight at De Gea, the forward then heading over after the United defender badly sliced a clearance.

West Ham: Adrian; Rice, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble (c), Masuaku (Carroll 66); Joao Mario, Lanzini, Arnautovic.

Lingard was at it again 10 minutes after the restart with a strike from range but Adrian was equal to the task. The Frenchman headed wide after neat wing-play by Valencia, thrashed an audacious 40-yarder off target and was unlucky with a bending drive, following tenacious play by Alexis.

A tiresome encounter only flared up in the closing stages as West Ham skipper Mark Noble raised his hands to Paul Pogba's face, but was only booked by referee Jon Moss.
