In March, 31 people were killed during the Persian new year celebrations in an Islamic State attack near a Shia shrine in Kabul.

In a further attack, 11 children were killed and 16 people wounded, including Romanian and Afghan security force members, when a suicide attacker exploded his auto near a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation convoy in the southern province of Kandahar, officials said.

The first blast happened at around at 8 a.m. local time in the Shashdarak area of the city, where the U.S. embassy and Afghan government buildings are located, prompting journalists to rush to the scene.

There have been two totally different assaults in Kabul: Officers stated the primary bomber was on a motorcycle whereas the second extremist arrived on foot 30 minutes after the primary blast posing as a journalist with a digital camera.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty said three of its journalists were among those killed.

A double suicide blast in Kabul killed 25 people, including AFP photographer Shah Marai and at least eight other journalists.

To attack non-combatants aiding the wounded and dying is an attack on the right to health.

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AFJSC) said the attack on newsmen is the most serious on the Afghan media since 2016, when seven workers for the Tolo News were killed. The group strongly condemned all attacks against journalists. Multiple Afghan soldiers were also killed and wounded during the operation. Sabawoon Kakar, an RFE cameraman, died in the hospital from his injuries. Survivors and witnesses recounted scenes of mayhem.

"When the explosion happened, everywhere was covered with dust and fire, it was such a horrific scene", said Jawed Ghulam Sakhi, a 28-year-old taxi driver. I have five and they spend their time cooped up inside the house.

Nine were killed and several others were injured.

Kabul chief of police Dawood Amin said the area of Kabul that was targeted, which includes many foreign embassies, was quickly sealed off.

"We stand with the people, the independent media, and government of Afghanistan and remain committed to supporting the Afghan peoples efforts to achieve peace, security, and democracy for their country", he said. The BBC confirmed the death in a statement on Twitter.

Hours later, another suicide attack killed 11 madrasa students in Kandahar province.

Eight Romanian soldiers, as well as multiple Afghan police officers and civilians, were killed and wounded in a vehicle bombing in Kandahar province.

The kids had gathered across the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation convoy for enjoyable when the bomber struck, stated Abdul Rahim Ayubi, a lawmaker from Kandahar.
